Armor for Sleep have gotten themselves a lot of attention, especially with the release of "What to Do When You're Dead," which was a marked improvement over their debut. This interview went down with vocalist Ben Jorgensen at The Living Room in Providence, RI on March 17, 2006, and was the shortest interview in Playlist history.
PL: State your name and favorite superhero.
AFS: My name is Ben and my favorite superhero I guess would be Spawn.
PL: Why do bands announce that they are going to be making a big announcement in the near future?
AFS: Well, usually people hear through the rumor mill that bands are gonna make a change, so they post it on a website before the band has time to announce it.
PL: Does playing music now tack on more pressure as opposed to when you first started playing out?
AFS: Yeah, there's more pressure because the expectations for us are a little bit higher. We want people coming to our shows so we can't fuck up like we used to when there were ten people coming to our shows. The bigger things get, then the more pressure there is on them.
PL: What do you do to let out frustration?
AFS: I'm not really a frustrated kind of person.
PL: Thats good.
PL: What do you think being dead is gonna be like?
AFS: Its gonna be like what it was like before you were born.
PL: If you had to eat a 14 ounce box of cereal in an hour and a half, which would you choose and why?
AFS: Lucky Charms. I've always liked Lucky Charms.
PL: Whats a little known fact about Equal Vision Records?
AFS: They're really nice people.
PL: Name one movie everybody should see.
AFS: "Dark City."
PL: Name one album, besides your own, that you think all kids should have in their collection.
AFS: OK Computer.
