Assemblent

Assemblent are about to release their debut album on Nemesis Records . This interview was conducted via Email with Sergio, their vocalist.

1. State something interesting about yourself.
1.I’ll leave the answer to that for the consideration of those who know me and those who see me play live.

2. Describe the anticipation that you have as the release date for Equilibrium
approaches.
At the begining I was really anxious and looking forward the release of the album but there were so many delays that naturally made more calm, still now I’m really happy to see that finally the work of Assemblent will be available to everyone enjoys metal. After all this album means to me four years of “Heartwork”.

3. What is the metal scene like in Portugal?
There are very good metal bands in Portugal that unfortunately do not get the recognition that they should have. Maybe because of our geographic location and also because our “Achilles heel” is the unhealthy competition that exists among most of the Portuguese bands, this doesn’t mean at everyone is like this. If the metal scene, not just in Portugal, but all over the world, supported each other more maybe our musical universe would be even stronger.

4. How does recording an album compare to recording a demo
Recording both album and demo was a fantastic time that we went through as a band but the album as a special meaning to us. We worked with Miguel Fonseca who made us grow years musically and he was like our big brother, and he worked as if he was one of the band. And then we had the special participation of Fernando Ribeiro of Moonspell, that sings on Silent Cries.

5. Whats one movie everyone should see?
"Fight Club"

6. Whats a little known fact about Portugal?
I don’t know if this is a little know fact about Portugal but we have what I consider to be one of the most beautiful and mystical places in the world which is Sintra and I strongly recommend that everyone who as the possibility to visit our country should go there

7. How long does it take for Nuno Baiao to set up his drum set?
Let’s just say when it comes to that he his the bride of the band.

8. Name one album, besides your own, that you think all kids should have in their collection.
Memorial – MOONSPELL. Not to just have it on their collection, but to hear it often.
