I did not do this conduct this interview with From First to Last. I severely hurt my back, which prevented me from doing almost anything during the month of August, so I had Greg take my Warped Tour pass and cover it for me. This was the only interview that he was able to conduct due to different reasons, and re-dislocated his shoulder during Rise Against, forcing him to get surgery in September. He did tell me that Matt, guitarist in From First to Last, was an awesome guy who agreed to do the interview early so Greg could watch Flogging Molly and Rise Against. This interview took place on August 19, 2004.

PL: My name is Greg and I'm from The Playlist.net. Whats your name?

FFTL: My name is Matt and I play guitar and sing in From First to Last.

PL: How many years have you been playing the Warped Tour?

FFTL: This is our first year on the Warped Tour.

PL: How many years have you been going to Warped Tour?

FFTL: Six.

PL: How is playing the Warped Tour different from attending it?

FFTL: Playing it is like when you're at camp; summer camp when you're not at school and you're a little kid. Thats what its like, but you're in a band.

PL: How do you guys take internet criticism, or criticism in general?

FFTL: Hey man; to each his own. Whatever you want to think; it doesn't matter. There are kids that like us, and there are kids that hate us.

PL: You don't hold grudges?

FFTL: No. I don't care.

PL: Is the internet better for downloading porn or stealing music?

FFTL: Stealing music.

PL: Whats the worst injury you've ever sustained while playing live?

FFTL: Our bass player hit me in the head with his bass. It gave me a huge gash on my head and I was bleeding everywhere and I passed out.

PL: Did you keep playing the show?

FFTL: Yeah, yeah I did. I passed out as I was walking off stage. And my whole shirt was covered in blood.

PL: Are you looking forward to the Bad Religion/Rise Against tour?

FFTL: Yeah, I'm really really looking forward to that tour. Its gonna be amazing.

PL: I would be too.

PL: Name an album besides your own that you think all kids should own.

FFTL: Get Up Kids-Something to Write Home About.

PL: Are you going to vote in this upcoming election?

FFTL: If I am in Florida, then yes I will.

PL: Any final comments?

FFTL: Um...I don't know. Keep talking shit; I don't give a fuck.

PL: Laughs Um...he didn't give me any more questions (I think thats what he said). How has the response been for you guys at the Warped Tour?

FFTL: Its been amazing. Its far surpassed my expectations. Everyday I wake up, and I'm like, 'Wow, this is amazing.'

PL: Do you like this type of show better, or your own shows; concerts/clubs?

FFTL: No, they're two totally different things. Club shows are really cool. They're a little more intimate with the crowds, and they definitely sound better. But this is completely different; it isn't like a normal tour at all.

PL: Are you gaining a lot of new fans?

FFTL: Yeah; our crowd is...(a playing band drowns out his answer, but I'm guessing he's giving props to kids who've seen them on the tour).

PL: What are some of your influences?

FFTL: I like a bunch of hardcore bands. I like the Get Up Kids a lot. I like a lot of weird electronic stuff. The Good Life, Cursive; I like to have a wide variety of stuff to listen to. But, the band as a whole listens to country, pop, rock, soul, everyone's got their own little thing.

PL: What are you playing out of?

FFTL: I have a Les Paul and I play through a Parker Gristal (?) head and a (?) cabinet.

PL: Okay, thanks for taking the time and it was nice meeting you. I'm sorry you didn't play today.

FFTL: I know.

PL: Okay, thanks a lot.
