'Jack Ryan' Series Starring John Krasinski Gets Series Order From Amazon

Jack Ryan is back. Again. The series is being developed by Carlton Cuse, best known for his work on “Lost” and “Bates Motel,” along with “Almost Human” producer Graham Roland. It’s the latest reboot for the titular Jack Ryan, who has been played by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and most recently, Chris Pine in 2014’s “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.” Krasinski, of course, is best known as the dorky and adorable, Jim Halpert on NBC’s “The Office.” However, he proved he’s ready to be an action hero when he starred as a special ops soldier in Michael Bay’s13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi.”

The first season of “Jack Ryan” will arrive in ten episodes, and it’ll be interesting to see if they can make the character attractive to an audience beyond the Dads who still read those books.

No release date is planned, but you can probably expect “Jack Ryan” to premiere on the streaming service sometime in 2017. [THR]
