We live in a culture of instant gratification. Want to watch a movie or TV show? Stream it on one of the zillion other services that are available. Need to buy some groceries, get new wheels for your bike, the latest novel by Stephen King, and a pair of jeans? Do it all at Amazon. Want to see your friend or relative halfway around the world? With every step of the production process for most blockbusters now documented in great detail, super-fans can more or less guesstimate when a trailer might appear, thus briefly sating their appetite for the actual movie. But when they don’t get it when they expect, it can lead to tweets in an escalating chrous of “Where is it?” “When is it coming?” “I want it now!” It’s a bit tiresome, particularly if it’s your movie everyone wants to see.

So, James Gunn, director of “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2” is politely asking his more fanatical followers to stop asking him when he’ll drop the trailer every single time he posts something to the internet. Firstly, the marketing decisions are entirely out of his hands, and secondly, it’s getting rude.
