Jean Claude Van Damme is best known for this plethora of ’90s action movies. From his breakout in “Bloodspot” to his unfortunate role in “Street Fighter,” Van Damme made a name for himself with his martial arts fighting and, let’s be honest, his splits. However, in the last decade, he has started to take on some more unique roles, and his sense of adventure is paying off with some interesting gigs. His latest such role is in the Amazon streaming series “Jean Claude Van Johnson.”
The trailer for the series was just released, and in it, we see Jean Claude, not as the action star that he is best known for, but as a reclusive, wealthy actor that uses a Segway to get the newspaper and maybe enjoys one or two Pop-Tarts. Taking a page from the meat “JCVD,” “Jean Claude Van Johnson” finds Van Damme playing an assassin….who’s also a big action movie stars.
Like how that wounds? Lucky for audiences, the pilot is on Amazon today, and hopefully it gets enough to juice to earn a season order.
