Jodie Foster To Star In 'Iron Man 3' Screenwriter Drew Pearce's Directorial Debut 'Hotel Artemis'

Over the past few years, Jodie Foster hasn’t been seen all that much on the big screen, choosing instead to focus on her directorial career which has seen her helm the feature “Money Monster,” and episodes of “Orange Is The New Black” and “House Of Cards.” But acting is an itch that it seems she needs to scratch again, and Foster has lined up an intriguing new project.

The filmmaker will star in screenwriter Drew Pearce’s directorial debut “Hotel Artemis.” Not many details are being released about the near-future-set crime story, except that Foster will be playing a character enigmatically named The Nurse. But coming from the pen of Pearce, who also wrote “Iron Man 3” and “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation,” it should be pretty compelling, and considering it has nabbed the attention of the choosy Foster, that certainly gives the project an extra bit of heft.

No word at the moment on when this might start filming, but it all sounds like it’s full steam ahead. And if Pearce can bring his inventiveness on the page behind the camera as well, it’ll be something special. [THR]
