Jude Law Joins Brady Corbet's Pop Star Drama ‘Vox Lux’ Starring Rooney Mara

We’re still some time away from unveiling our list of the most anticipated films of 2017, but you can bet “Vox Lux” will be on there. The next directorial effort from Brady Corbet is already off to a good start with Rooney Mara in a starring role and Sia penning the songs for the flick, and now it has added another great talent to the cast.

Jude Law has boarded the movie, which will tell the story of a pop star named Celeste who rises from tragedy to fame —her journey stretches over the course of 15 years, starting in 1999 and finishing in the present day. Law will play Celeste’s manager in the movie, marking his second film with Mara following Steven Soderbergh‘s “Side Effects.” The will be shot on 65mm and exhibited in 70mm —promising that both visually and sonically, this will be a real treat— and even more intriguing, Kodak is lending its financial and marketing support to the movie as well (it’s likely to help bolster Kodak’s commitment to old fashioned film stock).

Filming on “Vox Lux” kicks off in February and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a 2017 release date, though for now, no distributor is yet on board. [Variety]
