Justin Long, Jess Weixler & Addison Timlin Join The Cast Of The Unfortunately Named 'Lumpy'

Ok, it’s not the greatest title in the world by far, but it’s an interesting cast. Justin Long, Jess Weixler (the Sundance hit “Teeth,” “Peter and Vandy“), Tyler Labine (“Mad Love”), and Addison Timlin (“Californication”) will all star in “Lumpy,” the directorial debut of writer Ted Koland (the TV shows “Saints & Sinners,” “Fashion House“) according to a just-released statement.

Currently being shot on location in Minnesota, the film also co-stars Michael Landes (“Just Wright”), Evan Jones (“Book of Eli”), and believe it or not, Shelley Long, who has seemingly been absent from feature films for years (though a glance at her IMDB profile suggests she may have a few projects in post-production right now).

The film centers, or at least begins with, Lumpy (Labine), the best man at his friends’ (Weixler and Long) Arizona destination wedding. Lumpy is the life of the party until a long, indulgent night leads to his untimely death. Forced to cancel their honeymoon and fly back to Minneapolis to arrange for his funeral, the married couple meet a mutual acquaintance (Timlin) and learn that Lumpy isn’t quite who they thought he was.

“Lumpy” is being produced by Dave Abbitt, Jen Roskind, and Sharyn Steele. Weixler, who became a breakout actress with “Teeth” in the winter of 2007 is coming off a trio of roles in “Free Samples” opposite Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Ritter, “Periphery” with Jesse Garcia, and “The Normals” with Bryan Greenberg. Timlin recently made headlines when she was cast in “Odd Thomas” with Anton Yelchin, Tim Robbins and Willem Dafoe. No release date is set, but we’d imagine this is a 2012 picture or an indie that might appear at Sundance or SXSW next year.
