'The Killing Of A Sacred Deer' Soundtrack Stream [Exclusive]

Yorgos Lanthimos, the director of “Dogtooth” and “The Lobster,” is back, and he’s once again getting audiences talking. This spring he premiered his latest film, “The Killing Of A Sacred Deer,” at Cannes where it quickly became one of the major highlights of the festival. Now, the film is gearing up to hit cinemas and today we have an exclusive preview of a track from the eclectic soundtrack.

Starting with Franz Schubert and closing with Ellie Goulding, the music for the movie runs from classic to pop to avant garde, as you’ll hear in accordionist Janne Rattye‘s “De Profundis,” composed by Sofia Gubaidulina.

Starring Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Barry Keoghan, and Alicia Silverstone, “The Killing Of A Sacred Deer” tells the story of a surgeon who has to make an unthinkable sacrifice when his relationship to a teenage boy turns sinister. Here’s the offiical synopsis:

Dr. Steven Murphy is a renowned cardiovascular surgeon presiding over a spotless household with his ophthalmologist wife Anna  and their two exemplary children, 12-year-old Bob and 14-year-old Kim. Lurking at the margins of his idyllic suburban existence is Martin (Barry Keoghan), a fatherless teen who Steven has covertly taken under his wing. As Martin begins insinuating himself into the family’s life in ever-more unsettling displays, the full scope of his intent becomes menacingly clear when he confronts Steven with a long-forgotten transgression that will shatter the Murphy family’s domestic bliss.

“The Killing Of A Sacred Deer” opens on October 20th, with the soundtrack arriving digitally the same day via Milan Records. It will be released on CD on December 1st.
