Kristen Stewart & Julianne Moore Team For 'Still Alice,' Seth Rogen's 'Sausage Party' Gets Voice Cast & More

Still Alice Kristen Stewart Julianne Moore

Riding high from the Sundance Film Festival off strong notices for her performance in “Camp X-Ray,” Kristen Stewart isn’t wasting a moment. The actress has lined up a new project, one that will see her working alongside a pretty solid cast of players.

The Wrap reports that Stewart will co-star with Julianne Moore, Alec Baldwin and Kate Bosworth in the adaptation of the Lisa Genova novel, “Still Alice.” Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland (the pair helmed “The Last Of Robin Hood,” which premiered at TIFF last fall) will direct the picture that finds Moore/Stewart playing a mother/daughter who bond when the former becomes stricken with Alzheimers. Here’s the Amazon synopsis:

Alice Howland, happily married with three grown children and a house on the Cape, is a celebrated Harvard professor at the height of her career when she notices a forgetfulness creeping into her life. As confusion starts to cloud her thinking and her memory begins to fail her, she receives a devastating diagnosis: early onset Alzheimer’s disease. Fiercely independent, Alice struggles to maintain her lifestyle and live in the moment, even as her sense of self is being stripped away. In turns heartbreaking, inspiring and terrifying, Still Alice captures in remarkable detail what’s it’s like to literally lose your mind…

Production on the drama will begin in March.

In other news, we turn to voices: Seth Rogen‘s long developing R-rated animated movie “Sausage Party” is now moving forward with some considerable amount of steam as a voice cast is being assembled. And yep, it’s a lot of his friends along with some fresh faces. The Wrap reveals that James Franco, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, Kristen Wiig, Edward Norton and Nick Kroll will lend their talents to the flick, with Rogen also providing a voice to the film he co-wrote with Evan GoldbergKyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir. The wacky story revolves around “one heroic piece of meat’s quest to discover the truth about his existence. After falling out of a shopping cart, the sausage protagonist teams up with some new friends to embark on a perilous journey through the supermarket and return to their aisles before the Fourth of July sale.” Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan direct.

Meanwhile, Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart will all get behind the microphone for the currently untitled animated movie from “Despicable Me” director Chris Renaud. The Wrap reports that the story “takes place in a Manhattan apartment building, where the top dog, Max (Louis C.K.), has his life upended after his owner brings home sloppy mongrel Duke (Stonestreet). They have to unite against a cunning bunny named Snowball (Hart), who’s building an army of abandoned pets to turn the tables on humanity.” Adorable! The film will hit theaters on February 12, 2016.
