Lindsay Lohan Has A Terrible Idea For A 'Mean Girls' Sequel

There are plenty of reasons why “Mean Girls” still resonates 10 years later, not the least of which is that it’s still a terrifically funny and original look high school life from a female perspective, and of course, it stars Lindsay Lohan before she was Lindsay Lohan. (And while we’re at it, Amanda Seyfried, Rachel McAdams and Lizzy Caplan are among some of the other faces in that movie that went on to bigger things.) Though seven years later, a direct-to-video sequel was made featuring no one from the original, everyone politely pretends it didn’t happen. But keep hope sorta alive for a followup, because LiLo has an idea.

The actress recently chatted with Time Out London and revealed she pitched “Mean Girls” writer Tina Fey on an idea for a sequel. And uh, it’s interesting…

“People really love the movie: how do you top that? I was with Tina Fey [‘Mean Girls’ writer] the other day and I said we should do another ‘Mean Girls,’ like an older version where they’re all housewives and they’re all cheating,” Lohan said. “That would be really funny. I’ll harass Tina to write it.”

It’s not quite clear if Lohan understands what made “Mean Girls” so biting and funny the first time around, but that followup idea is not fetch. But we suppose it can’t be worse than this…..
