Kurt Vonnegut-"A Man Without a Country"

God Bless You, Mr. Vonnegut.

Kurt Vonnegut rerely lets me down. His writing style is so unique and intelligent, making me wonder if Vonnegut is the smartest man in America. He is one of the country's (if not world's) best authors, and its always an honor to read one of his books.

This is a piece of narrative non fiction that is as creative as any of his fiction works. Vonnegut works with the themes of war, farting around and how the human race has all but destroyed the world in about a 200 year time span, as well as a lesson in creative writing and some insight into some of his novels (and countless other things). He uses the same wit and humor, and every sentence is both quotable and thought provoking.

Its simple to assume that anything Vonnegut releases is worth reading; something that holds true with this piece of work. He mentions a new novel that he has been working on for the past five years about a stand up comedian at the end of the world. I can only hope that this work sees the light of day, although Vonnegut doesn't seem to think it ever will.
