Louis C.K. Launches Surprise New Show 'Horace And Pete' Starring Steve Buscemi And Alan Alda

Louis C.K. in "Horace and Pete."For fans of Louis C.K.‘s "Louie," last month the prognosis was grim on the series which went on hiatus after its fifth season. "[Louis] hasn’t promised me further seasons. I have no commitment from him," FX president John Landgraf said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour last month (via ScreenCrush). "We still talk about making more seasons of ‘Louie’ with some regularity… We also had a conversation, maybe this is a show you’ll do periodically for the rest of your life. It could be one of those odd TV shows that has 15 seasons over 40 years. I don’t know what it might be."

Well, whatever the future of "Louie" turns out to be, the comedian had a big surprise for fans over the weekend. With little fanfare, Louis C.K. launched a new series, "Horace And Pete," starring himself, alongside Steve Buscemi and Alan Alda. The first episode is now available on his website for five bucks, with the "Cheers"-esque show revolving around the patrons of an Irish bar, with Edie Falco, Rebecca Hall, Jessica Lange, Kurt Metzger, Steven Wright, and others dropping by for cameo turns.

Presumably there will be one episode per week, and it looks like there will be four episodes total. Have you watched the first episode? What did you think? Let us know in the comments section. [Deadline]
