Marvel Eyes Kurt Russell To Play Peter Quill's Father In 'Guardians Of The Galaxy 2'

The Hateful EightJust under a month ago, there was a brouhaha in the world of comic book reporting, when Heroic Hollywood went to bat to definitively say that Mar-Vell was going to be revealed as Peter Quill’s father in "Guardians Of The Galaxy 2." Director James Gunn vehemently denied the story, and called out spoiler culture in general, but it seems there was one nugget of truth in the original. We’re gonna see Peter Quill’s Dad.

The Wrap that reports that Marvel is eyeing Kurt Russell for the part. The catch? No offer has been made, the actor hasn’t read the script, and meetings still have to take place. So yeah, this may or may not happen at all. But Russell is back on the radar in a big way thanks to a key role in Quentin Tarantino‘s upcoming "The Hateful Eight," so he might be looking to keep the heat going with another blockbuster role. But bear in mind, a lot of those "actors circling" things don’t pan out, so we’ll see where this lands.
