Marvel's 'The Inhumans' Coming To ABC In 2017, Will Premiere In IMAX Theatres

It’s been no secret that Marvel has been uncertain about what to do with “The Inhumans.” At one time, the property was headed to the big screen and was even slated for a release date of July 2, 2019. Earlier this year, it was taken off the schedule, but over the summer, Kevin Feige was insisting it was still coming to theaters. Well, that’s certainly still happening, but with a pretty interesting twist.

The studio has announced that “Marvel’s The Inhumans” will be a new series on ABC, that will launch in fall 2017. However, the first two episodes — which will be filmed entirely on IMAX cameras — will get an exclusive run in IMAX theaters for two weeks at the beginning of September 2017. Wow. It will mark the first live action TV show to hit IMAX cinemas, and it’s another game-changing move from the comic book studio that is keeping the rest of Hollywood forever playing catchup.

At the moment, it hasn’t been revealed who will be writing, directing, starring or showrunning “Marvel’s The Inhumans,” but the series will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family. So, something else major for Marvel fans to look forward to, and another power player by the studio that seems incapable of missing the mark.
