You might be asking yourself, “Didn’t we already see ‘Leatherface‘? ” and we understand the confusion. It wasn’t that long ago that we got “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning,” which itself was a prequel to the Michael Bay produced reboot. (We know, bear with us). Instead, “Leatherface” is a prequel to Tobe Hooper‘s 1974 horror classic, and yes, it’s about the beginnings of the madman who would wield a chainsaw.

Starring Jessica Madsen, Sam Coleman, Sam Strike, James Bloo, Vanessa Grasse, Stephen Dorff and Lili Taylor, the story follows four inmates of an asylum who break out and hit the road, only to be pursued by a ruthless lawman. Among the quartet however, evil is lurking. Here’s the official synopsis:
In Leatherface, Jessica Madsen plays one of four inmates (Sam Coleman, Sam Strike, James Bloor) who escapes from a mental hospital. One of them becomes the title character and iconic slasher. The quartet kidnaps a young nurse (played by Vanessa Grasse) and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman (Stephen Dorff) out for revenge. The Conjuring‘s Lili Taylor is Verna Sawyer.
“Leatherface” hits DirecTV on September 21st and arrives on VOD and in limited release on October 20th.
