Mel Gibson Fights To Protect His Daughter In New Trailer For 'Blood Father'

Mel Gibson is mad, and when he’s mad, you better stay out of his way. No, we’re not talking about his persona, but rather, the character he plays in the upcoming “Blood Father.” He’s all muscle, and attitude, and hell-bent on protecting his daughter, and a new trailer has landed for the gritty flick.

Directed by Jean-François Richet (“Mesrine,” “Assault On Precinct 13“), co-written by Peter Craig (“The Town,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 & 2“), and co-starring Erin Moriarty, Elisabeth Röhm, Diego Luna, and William H. Macy (those seem like pretty good credits for this kind of B-movie material), the flick finds Gibson called in by his daughter protect her from some ruthless bad dudes after her boyfriend is shot. Here’s the official synopsis:

BLOOD FATHER stars Mel Gibson as John Link, an ex-convict who fights to protect his estranged daughter from the drug cartel that is hunting her down. In this thrilling action film, John must use his connections from his past life and his skills as an ex-criminal to keep him and his daughter alive.

“Blood Father” will make its North American premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival, and opens on August 12th.
