Miles Teller & Jonah Hill Are Arms Dealers In New Trailer For 'War Dogs'

It’s been three years since Todd Phillips closed the final, disappointing chapter of “The Hangover” trilogy, and frankly, I’ve been waiting to see to see if he could get back to the glory of “Old School” and “Starsky & Hutch” (yep, I said it, that movie is pretty underrated). And he has a good shot of delivering something special with “War Dogs,” which sees the director moving into true story territory while retaining his wild edge.

Starring Miles Teller and Jonah Hill, and featuring a score by Cliff Martinez (that should be very interesting), the movie tells the story of two young men who somehow managed to win a Pentagon contract worth $300 million and became Lords of War, running guns and having a good time doing it. Here’s the official synopsis:

Based on a true story, “War Dogs” follows two friends in their early 20s (Hill and Teller) living in Miami Beach during the Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Starting small, they begin raking in big money and are living the high life. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a 300 million dollar deal to arm the Afghan Military—a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.

“War Dogs” opens on August 19th.
