Hacking is back in the minds of the public, now that HBO is trying to do damage control after a major breach. So, USA Network isn’t wasting a moment, as they’ve trotted out their trailer for the third season of the keyboard mashing “Mr. Robot.”
Rami Malek‘s Elliot is back after having been betrayed by the titular character (Christian Slater) and E Corp exec Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström), and the savvy hacker is ready for retribution. “Season 3 is about Elliot trying to bounce back and fight against the people who have been using him,” creator Sam Esmail told EW. “Elliot isn’t going to take this lying down.”
Joining the third season is an outrageously attired Bobby Cannavale who plays a “laconic, no-nonsense used car salesman,” but we’re sure there will be more to the role than that. Unless, Elliot suddenly becomes a gear head who likes to restore old Mustangs or something.
“Mr. Robot” boots up again on August 11th.
