New 'Blade Runner 2049' Trailer With Ryan Gosling & Harrison Ford

The marketing blitz for “Blade Runner 2049” is in full gear, with another trailer dropping today. One of the most highly anticipated films of this year, the sequel to Ridley Scott‘s legendary “Blade Runner” has been on  a heavy promotional run, but not a lot has been revealed a lot about the actual plot. What we do know, though, is the official synopsis. Once again:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society in chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

There have also been a few interesting revelations about the film, the first being that Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch will be helping Johann Johannsson score the film . Additionally, while doing the rounds director Denis Villeneuve recently revealed which cut of “Blade Runner” he prefers and considers canon. While it comes as little surprise that Villeuneve’s preferred cut is also Ridley Scott’s, it does lend some insight into how he approached making the sequel.

It’ll be interesting to see if the film turns out to be an Oscar contender, though it would probably be looking more at the technical categories than anything else (can we finally give Roger Deakins an Oscar?).

Starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto, “Blade Runner 2049” opens on October 6th.
