New Images From Richard Ayoade's TIFF Bound 'The Double' Starring Jesse Eisenberg & Mia Wasikowska

The Double, Jesse Eisenberg, Mia WasikoswkaWhile many threw rather glib Wes Anderson comparisons at Richard Ayoade‘s sweet directorial debut “Submarine,” it looks like for this next film, he’s making it clear that he’s got his own vision. “The Double,” which we’ve been waiting for ever since the atmospheric first images landed last fall, is now bound for TIFF, and an array of new pictures have come with the news.

A contemporary America-set adaptation of the novella by Fyodor Dostoevsky, co-written by Ayoade with Harmony Korine‘s brother Avi, the film features a promising cast—Jesse Eisenberg, Noah Taylor, Mia Wasikowska, Yasmin Page and more—in a decidedly oddball story. Here’s the synopsis:

Simon is a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon’s exact physical double and his opposite — confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon’s horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.

Sounds pretty good, right? Check out images from the film below and keep it on your radar.
