New Look At 'Stranger Things' Season 2, Plus PTSD, Stephen King-Esque Touch & More Teased

Stranger Things” continues to break any and all rules at Netflix. The hugely popular show is the first in the streaming site’s history to get its own Super Bowl spot, and even though the second season isn’t landing until the fall, the promo machine is already going hard, with the series gracing the cover of EW this week. And with it comes more secrets being spilled about what lies ahead.

So far, the only real detail we’ve known is that the story will pick up a year after the events of the first season, in 1984, if the Ghostbusters uniforms worn by the lead quartet didn’t already tip you off. And as you might imagine, Will Byers, who has survived his trip into the Upside Down, is left forever changed.

“He seems to be seeing images from the Upside Down—the question is whether they’re real or not,” co-writer/director Matt Duffer told the magazine. “So it seems like he’s having some sort of post-traumatic stress disorder.”

Meanwhile, a handful of new characters will enter the mix including brother and sister Billy (Dacre Montgomery) and Max (Sadie Sink), and the former may have a very compelling role in the narrative.

Stephen King always has really great human villains. The evil in the real world is often as bad or worse than the supernatural evil, so we wanted to introduce a character like that,” Duffer said.

So, some intriguing morsels to chew as we wait for “Stranger Things” season 2 to return on Halloween. Stranger Things Season 2ew cover Stranger Things
