New Pics Of Benicio Del Toro & Mathieu Amalric In Arnaud Desplechin's Cannes Contender 'Jimmy P.'

nullWhile speculating last month which films would make this year’s Cannes Film Festival, we pegged Arnaud Desplechin‘s “Jimmy Picardas one of the strong contenders. Well, sure enough, there it is listed among the films in competition, albeit under the new, longer title of “Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian).” The movie stars Benicio Del Toro and Matthieu Amalric, and we’ve now got a batch of new images from the film ahead of its Cannes bow next month.
The new images principally show off more of Del Toro’s titular Jimmy Picard and Amalric’s George’s Devereux, as well as British actress Gina McKee and Misty Upham of “Frozen River” fame. They’re not the most eye-catching images, but it’s always good to remind audiences of the presence of a good cast, and the period garb looks pretty good, too, we suppose.
The film is based on a true story and will be narrated by Del Toro’s character. The film follows his life as he returns from World War II with a mysterious illness erroneously diagnosed as schizophrenia by doctors, so he seeks the help of Amalric’s analyst Georges for a second opinion. The two schedule daily appointments and soon become firm friends. We’ll find out whether it lives up to its potential next month.nullnullnullnull
