When Justin Simien‘s “Dear White People” arrived a few years back in the waning days of the Obama presidency, it was a pointed comedy that spoke some hard truths. However, with Trump in the White House, Simien’s satire now seems to carry a more pointed charge, one that will get a chance to really land a punch with in the new Netflix series based on the film.
