Phil Lord & Chris Miller's Script For 'The Lego Movie Sequel' Getting Rewrite From Creator Of 'BoJack Horseman'

It’s mind-boggling to think anybody in Hollywood could not be satisfied with the work of Phil Lord and Chris Miller. The duo have been highly sought after, fresh voices who have the uncanny knack to make reboots and branded entertainment feel completely original. It’s hard to imagine anyone else who could’ve turned “21 Jump Street” into a franchise or a bag of plastic bricks into an animated hit sensation, and it’s not a big surprise that Warner Bros. wanted them to direct “The Flash” (they wrote the treatment). Instead, they chose to revive Han Solo for the big screen for Disney. So, the idea that a studio would get someone to rewrite their work is….surprising. But indeed, it’s happening.

Variety reports that WB have roped in “BoJack Horseman” writer/creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg to rewrite the script for “The Lego Movie Sequel.” Say what? I mean, no offense to Bob-Waksberg whose Netflix animated series is no slouch, earning plenty of praise of critics and audiences, but it was the voice of Lord and Miller that made “The Lego Movie” go from a laughing stock concept into a big success. Certainly, Bob-Waksberg will have some very big shoes to fill.
