Pierce Brosnan Is Facing A Tech Nightmare In First Trailer For 'I.T.'

If we learned nothing else from last week’s “Nerve,” the world of high tech, smartphones, and social media is a pretty dangerous one. Swipe right, and you could be in trouble. And now comes another cautionary of technology gone awry in the very plainly named “I.T.,” with former James Bond himself Pierce Brosnan wishing he didn’t open that email.

Directed by John Moore (“Max Payne,” “A Good Day To Die Hard“) and co-starring James Frecheville, Anna Friel, and Stefanie Scott, “I.T.” tells the horrific story of what happens when you let some creepy dude who knows his way around computers get access to your fancy, computer controlled smart home. Not since “The Net” has a keyboard been more menacing. Here’s the official synopsis:

Mike Regan is a successful, self-made man who has it all: a gorgeous wife, a beautiful teenage daughter, and a sleek, state-of-the-art “smart home”. But he soon finds himself in a deadly, high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse when his I.T. consultant, Ed, starts using his skills to stalk Mike’s daughter and endanger his family, his business, and his life. In a world where there is no privacy, and personal secrets can go viral by the click of a mouse, Mike needs to rely on his old connections to defeat a new kind of nemesis.

“I.T.” opens in theaters and hits VOD on September 23rd.
