Both series are led by women on and off screen: Jennie Snyder Urman is the showrunner for “Jane the Virgin,” and Rachel Bloom and Aline Brosh McKenna created “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.” These are two shows that don’t take the standard approach to 60 minutes on broadcast television, playing with format and structure while literally teaching the audience about the Bechdel test.

All shows and their episodes are part of The Playlist Podcast Network and can be found on iTunes and Soundcloud. You can stream or download the podcast via the Soundcloud embed below or up top.
