Prison, Promises & More In New Clips From 'T2 Trainspotting'

Off to the races with a strong box office reception in the U.K., “T2 Trainspotting” is making a pit stop at the Berlin Film Festival, before coming to North America. But if you’re eager for that lust for life spirit just a little bit early, these clips from the movie should do the trick.

Renton (Ewan McGregor), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), Spud (Ewen Bremner) and Begbie (Robert Carlyle) are reunited decades following “Trainspotting,” where friendships are renewed and old wounds are still festering. And these handful of clips shine a strong light on where the characters are now in their lives. Here’s the official synopsis:

First there was an opportunity……then there was a betrayal.

Twenty years have gone by. Much has changed but just as much remains the same. Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home.

They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).

Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance.

“T2 Trainspotting” goes wide on April 7th.
