While we’re a site focused on movies, with December giving us a chance to share with you our thoughts on the best that cinema had to offer in 2016, the last twelve months were pretty great for music too. And director Edgar Wright — no slouch for having a great ear for top tunes — has compiled a playlist that will serve as a perfect way to take you into 2017.

The Top 50 Songs Of 2016 from the director features a pretty wide-range of tunes, including art-rock trailblazers Radiohead (“Burn The Witch”), the singular and legendary David Bowie (“ ‘Tis A Pity She’s A Whore,” “I Can’t Give Everything Away”), hip hop’s premiere artist Kendrick Lamar (“untitled 06|06.30.2014.”), post-punkers Parquet Courts (“Human Performance”), experimental pop group Animal Collective (“FloriDada”) and much more.
