Robert Downey Jr. Joins 'Spider-Man: Homecoming,' Michael Keaton Exits

Iron Man 3As we know from the trailers for "Captain America: Civil War," Spider-Man and Iron Man are buddies and fighting on the same side, so it only follows that he’ll pop his head into the webslinger’s solo joint.

Indeed, Robert Downey Jr. has joined "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and that means Iron Man won’t die in ‘Civil War,’ and probably nothing too bad will happen otherwise to him. He’ll be joining Tony RevoloriLaura HarrierMarisa Tomei and Zendaya in the Sony and Marvel co-production, but there’s no word yet on how big RDJ’s role will be, nor any plot details for the picture. However, one actor you won’t be seeing? Michael Keaton. Courted to play one of the villains, he’s since dropped out.
