Seth Meyers To Host 2018 Golden Globe Awards

The post-Harvey Weinstein world is going to give awards season hosts a lot of fodder to dive into, and you can bet this year’s Golden Globes is going to have some choice ammunition coming from the stage.

The man behind the desk of “Late Night With Seth Meyers” will stand up and take the mic at the 2018 Golden Globes, with a deal coming into place. Of course, his comedy bonafides are more than established thanks to his years on “Saturday Night Live,” but he’s since become a political commentator of sorts, using his “A Closer Look” segment to routinely take on Donald Trump, and more recently, Hollywood. There’s no doubt that Meyers is going to use the platform of the Golden Globes to take the industry to task even further, but couple it with cutting comedy. The Globes haven’t been afraid to push the envelope in the past (see Ricky Gervais‘ years) so Meyers will be fitting well into tradition.

Meyers has previously hosted the Espys, but this will be his first movie industry affair. The Golden Globes air on January 7th on NBC. [Variety]
