Seth Rogen, Zach Galifianakis, And Bill Hader Team For Space Comedy 'The Something'

Seth Rogen, Zach Galifianakis, And Bill HaderThere’s been no shortage of big-screen journeys in outer space of lately, including "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," "Interstellar," "Gravity," "The Martian," and "Guardians Of The Galaxy." What you don’t see very often is a comedy set in space — but a trio of very funny dudes are about to make that happen.

Seth Rogen, Zach Galifianakis, and Bill Hader are all set for "The Something" (that’s not a joke title, that is the title). Rodney Rothman, who has penned "Grudge Match" and "22 Jump Street" among others, wrote the script and will make his directorial debut with this one about five male astronauts who come across another after being stuck in space for years. Presumably, things do not go well.

It’ll be a reunion for Rogen and Hader, who have crossed paths on multiple projects over the years, ever since Hader landed a role in the Rogen-co-written "Superbad." However, it’ll be Galifianakis’ first time working with Rogen, and his second time with Hader, following their stint together in the 2006 short "The Pity Card" directed by Bob Odenkirk. Incidentally, at one time Rose Byrne was attached to star in this project, but I guess she’s moved on.

No word yet on when "The Something" will start filming but Universal has already given it the greenlight. [THR]
