Evergreen Terrace, Most Precious Blood, With Honor, On Broken Wings
The Living Room in Providence, RI
July 11, 2005

I missed On Broken Wings because I was waiting to interview Evergreen Terrace. The line was bordering the Dunkin Donuts parking lot through most of their set. I'm sure security was taking extra precautions in case a fight broke out. A scuffle did break out while I was interviewing Evergreen Terrace, which featured a dude on crutches, some other kids and security (Josh from Evergreen Terrace said the dude on crutches was in On Broken Wings), but no punches were thrown.

I walked in a few songs into With Honor's set. The heat hit me like a Mac Truck from behind, wiping me out a few steps intot he club. This summer has really been kicking my ass with this stupid heat, which is starting to piss me off.

I found a seat on a pool table towards the back of the club, but I had to get closer because With Honor is such a great live band. I braved the intense heat and made my way through overly sweaty people towards the middle of the club (the closest I could get while still being able to breathe), and enjoyed one of my favorite hardcore bands. They played some new songs which sounded absolutely incredible. They were definitely worth getting (extra) sweaty for (I started to sweat once I walked in the club).

I was sitting in front of the air conditioner watching the Home Run Derby as Most Precious Blood played. I'm not really a fan of them, but they did play the one song that I like (I think its Track 2 on their first CD). I listened for a little while as I felt the Heaven of the cool breeze. I missed the rest of their set because I was outside on the phone.

After walking back into the club and talking to some people, I realized that I couldn't take the sweltering heat anymore, so I went outside to where I could actually breathe, stop sweating, and still enjoy Evergreen Terrace's set. The door to the club was open, so I was able to hear them with no problems. They opened their set by playing along to "Paradise City" by Guns 'n' Roses, which was awesome, as Axl Rose's vocals were played while they played along with the music. Fucking clever.

The rest of their set was just as awesome, as they ripped through a whole bunch of songs. The guitars were awesome, and they had a ton of mosh parts, which made the kids happy. They also covered "Zero," by Smashing Pumpkins, which, while not being my favorite cover they've done, was pretty cool. Here's hoping that they don't have to take the next 14 years off because of stupid people that don't fess up to a mistake and instead let someone take the rap!
