In a new video, a YouTube user by the name of Flynns has taken it upon himself to do a side-by-side comparison of the 1995 original film with the footage that has been released from the 2017 remake starring Scarlett Johansson. This isn’t a shot-for-shot remake, but it looks like the iconic images that were found in the original “Ghost In The Shell” are definitely in the live-action version. It’s also interesting that the new film keeps true to the look of the characters as well. One could argue that the original film, while a classic, does look a bit dated with the characters. However, the clothing and hairstyles seems to be ripped directly from the anime.

It’s still undetermined how much the controversy will affect the film’s bottom line, but from the looks of things, the new film might actually be the (overly?) respectful adaptation that fans have been clamoring for.
