Sophie Turner Says ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 5 Is “More Shocking Than The Red Wedding,” Plus 2 Deleted Scenes From Season 4

Game Of ThronesHBO’s “Game Of Thrones” season five is on the way, and according to George R.R. Martin, shit’s going to get real. Namely, characters that didn’t die in the books are gonna get axed here, and the show has to diverge if only because it’s quickly catching up with the narrative in the books and is threatening to overtake it as Martin is a notoriously slow writer. It gets darker.

“There’s some massive moments, perhaps even more shocking than the Red Wedding type of thing,” Sophie Turner, also known as Sansa Stark, recently said in an interview with the Huffington Post. “There’s like a lot going on this season. There’s also, you know, a lot of blood, a lot of death. And a lot of people kind of come far. And there are a few familiar faces around as well."

Meanwhile, as season four hits home video, new deleted scenes have been released.

The first clip features Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and his ex-lover Shae (Sibel Kekilli), along with his faithful liege Bronn (Jerome Flynn), right after Tyrion decides to send her away to Pentos for her safety (you’ll recall Tywin was planning to kill her), though he has to do it super harshly. The scene reveals a bit more of Bronn’s empathy and the plight of being caught between love and duty.

The second one is CGI-laden and features Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), who is feeling anger and resentment for having to cast out Jorah (Iain Glen). “Never betray me,” she says coldly, though you know she’s conflicted about what went down with Jorah, who did mean well.

Season five is scheduled to premiere on April 12. "Game of Thrones: The Complete Fourth Season" is available this week on Blu-ray, with Digital Copy, DVD & Digital HD.
