Spoiler! Zendaya's Role In 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Revealed

**Spoilers ahead**

We’re just under a month away from the release of “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and you might feel that with the tidal wave of marketing, you know everything about the movie already. However, there are still some secrets to be revealed, and one actress who has intriguingly been largely absent the advertising so far is Disney channel star Zendaya. Her role in the film has been kept under wraps — she is not the new Mary Jane Watson as initially reported — with only the first name of her character being given: Michelle. But it now looks like we know who she’s playing.

**Again, spoilers ahead**

Nerdist has dived into the junior novelization of the film where the full name of Zendaya’s character is revealed: Michelle Toomes. To the average person this doesn’t mean much, but comic book fans know that the film’s villain The Vulture also goes by Adrian Toomes when he’s not wearing the wings. So it would seem that Michelle Toomes is his daughter, which certainly brings an interesting dynamic to the film that until now seemed fairly routine all around. Will Peter Parker see the connection between Michelle and Vulture? Will Michelle follow her father into supervillainy or turn down the trade?

We’ll find out when “Spider-Man: Homecoming” opens on July 7th.
