Stay Hungry With The New Trailer For 'The Founder' Starring Michael Keaton

Never say never, but with the awards season winding down to the Oscar nominations in just a few short weeks, it’s pretty well settled which films are in the mix and which aren’t, and unfortunately for The Weinstein Company, “The Founder” is largely out. Michael Keaton might have an outside shot at a Best Actor nomination, but the picture hasn’t really tracked with critics and Harv and co. never really gave it a big push. Nonetheless, Keaton looks great in the lead role of Ray Kroc, the man who would build a fast-food empire.

Indeed, if you ever wondered why you’re within a 20-minute walk or drive of a McDonald’s, “The Founder” tells the true story of the vision that led to billions of hamburgers being served worldwide. Here’s the official synopsis:

Written by Robert Siegel (BIG FAN), THE FOUNDER is a drama that tells the true story of how Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers’ speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.

Co-starring Laura Dern, Linda Cardellini, John Carroll Lynch and Nick Offerman, “The Founder” opens on January 20th.
