Stellan Skarsgård Wants Revenge In New Trailer For Fantastic Fest Winner 'In Order Of Disappearance'

They say timing is everything, and with news this spring that Liam Neeson would be bringing his late-career growl to a remake of the Scandinavian cult fave “In Order Of Disappearance,” the movie is now headed to theaters a couple years after earning great buzz on the festival circuit, and picking up awards at Fantastic Fest, Fantasia, and more. And really, better late than never.

Starring the always great Stellan Skarsgård, Bruno Ganz, Pål Sverre Hagen, Jakob Oftebro, and Kristofer Hivju, the darkly comic movie follows an everyday snowplow driver, beloved by everyone, who discovers his son was murdered. Soon he’s in the middle of a turk war, and of course, things get out of control. Here’s the official synopsis:

Introverted and hard-working snowplow driver Nils has just been named “Citizen of the Year,” when he receives news that his son has died of a heroin overdose. Disbelieving the official report, Nils soon uncovers evidence of the young man’s murder – a victim in a turf war between the local crime boss, known as “The Count,” and his Serbian rivals. Armed with heavy machinery and a good dose of beginner’s luck, Nils embarks upon a quest for revenge that soon escalates into a full-blown underworld gang war, with the body count spiraling ever higher and higher.

“In Order Of Disappearance” opens in theaters, on demand, on iTunes and Amazon Video on August 26th.
