From “Wonder Woman” to “Atomic Blonde,” women are kicking ass on the big screen this year, and the trend isn’t just here for the season. 2018 will start off with Taraji P. Henson getting gritty, and the first trailer for “Proud Mary” is here.
Co-starring Neal McDonough, Margaret Avery, Danny Glover, Xander Berkeley, Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Rade Serbedzija, and Billy Brown, and directed by Babak Najafi (“Easy Money II: Hard To Kill,” “London Has Fallen“), the story revolves around a hardened hitwoman who begins to feel feelings when she gets protective of a young boy. Bullets and emotions will presumably fly after that, and we’re all for Henson flexing some muscle.
“Proud Mary” opens on January 12, 2018.
