Created by Tom Hardy, Chips Hardy (Tom’s dad), and Steven Knight (Scott is an executive producer), “Taboo” is an eight-episode miniseries about an adventurer who returns to Britain from Africa along with fourteen stolen diamonds to seek vengeance after the death of his father.
Featuring a stellar cast, “Taboo” see Hardy in the leading role plus Oona Chaplin, David Hayman, Michael Kelly and the great Jonathan Pryce. Here’s the official synopsis:

Set in 1814, Taboo follows James Keziah Delaney, a man who has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed. But his father’s legacy is a poisoned chalice, and with enemies lurking in every dark corner, James must navigate increasingly complex territories to avoid his own death sentence. Encircled by conspiracy, murder, and betrayal, a dark family mystery unfolds in a combustible tale of love and treachery.
Kristoffer Nyholm (Danish TV series “The Killing,” “The Enfield Haunting“) has directed the first four episodes. “Taboo” premieres January 7 on BBC One and January 10 on FX in the U.S. And yes, it’s right near the top of our Most Anticipated TV Shows Of 2017 list.
