Tommy Lee Jones Gets His Spy Game Going By Joining 'Bourne 5'

nullWhile Tommy Lee Jones may present himself as a Serious Person who is a Serious Actor and thus will only star in Serious Things, his recent filmography would suggest otherwise. He already carries one franchise under his name with "Men In Black," and he hasn’t been afraid to participate in material that’s quite unlike him (see "The Family"). Next year, he even has a role in "Mechanic: Resurrection". But some have commented that the ‘Bourne’ series is smarter than most tentpole fare, so perhaps that was the attraction for this next move.

Variety reports that Jones has joined Matt Damon, Alicia Vikander, and Julia Stiles in "Bourne 5." The role is being kept under wraps, but of course, the trade says he’ll probably be playing someone in the CIA. That comes as no surprise, considering 75% of the speaking parts in these movies usually are.

Paul Greengrass is back to direct and the movie starts lensing this summer, with Jason Bourne back on the grid on July 29, 2016.
