'Tron 3' Reportedly Shooting This Fall With Joseph Kosinski And Garrett Hedlund Returning

nullWhile the box office return on "Tron: Legacy" wasn’t stellar — $400 million on a $170 million budget — it was enough to encourage Disney to keep the franchise going. In 2012Jesse Wigutow ("It Runs In The Family," "The Crow" reboot) was hired to write the script, and Joseph Kosinski was attached to direct. And before the year was out, Garrett Hedlund himself confirmed he would be returning for the followup. And that was the last anyone heard for a couple of years, but it would appear things are ramping up.

Local outlet Vancity Buzz is reporting that "Tron 3" will start shooting in Vancouver starting on October 5th, with Kosinski directing and Hedlund as the only confirmed cast member returning (for now). The green light has apparently already been given to the movie, and it hasn’t taken long for more chatter to surface. Badass Digest has a source that also confirms the sequel is a go to shoot this year.

If this is happening, then official word is shortly around the corner. But Sony might be a bit bummed out considering Kosinski just signed up to helm "Gran Turismo" for them, and it’s a property they’d likely want to get moving sooner rather than later. Undoubtedly, more details to come, but get ready to return to the Grid.
