Tupac Shakur's Story Gets Told In New Trailer For Biopic 'All Eyez On Me'

Last summer, “Straight Outta Compton” surprised everyone when the hip hip biopic grossed $201 million worldwide. Hoping to replicate that movie’s success is “All Eyez on Me,” a film about famed rapper Tupac Shakur. And on the 20th anniversary of the late rapper’s death, a new trailer for the film was released, and fans are getting another look at what director Benny Boom and star Demetrius Shipp, Jr. have in store.

From the first seconds of the trailer, it’s clear this film is not shying away from the current political climate with images of a young Tupac encountering several police officers. The rest of the footage looks very similar to what audiences saw in last year’s ‘Compton.’ With a quick Tupac cameo and appearances by Suge Knight in ‘Compton,’ “All Eyez on Me” can almost be looked at as a spiritual successor to “Straight Outta Compton,” telling what happened post-NWA. One thing is for sure, actor Demetrius Shipp, Jr. looks born to play the role of the late Tupac Shakur.

No firm release date yet, but take a look at what’s coming below.
