'Una' Trailer: Rooney Mara Tracks Down Ben Mendelsohn

With “Mary Magdalene” pushed to 2018, it means we’re going to have to wait for the next high profile Rooney Mara movie. However, fans of the actress will have something to look forward to this fall with “Una.” The small scale drama hit festivals last fall, but didn’t quite make a big splash. Nonetheless, there’s still enough of a ripple that we’re intrigued to see the film that pits Mara against Ben Mendelsohn.

Directed by Benedict Andrews, and based on the Tony Award winning play “Blackbird” by David Harrower, the film follows a young woman who tracks down the man who still haunts her past. Here’s the official synopsis:

“Una” follows a young woman’s journey to reclaim her past. Fifteen years earlier, Una ran away with an older man, Ray, a crime for which he was arrested and imprisoned. When she comes across a photo of him in a trade magazine, Una tracks him down and turns up at his workplace. Her abrupt arrival threatens to destroy Ray’s new life and derail her stability. Unspoken secrets and buried memories surface as Una and Ray sift through the wreckage of their past.

Co-starring Riz Ahmed, “Una” opens on October 6th in New York and October 13th in Los Angeles.
