This may be one of the coolest releases ever. I knew nothing of Caninus before picking this split EP up at Metal Fest, but they are a damn cool band. They play tight grindcore with growling (literally) vocals. Their two singers, Budgie and Basil, are probably the two cutest vocalist that you will ever see in a grind band. They are both dogs (who are much easier on the eyes than most humans), which would make Caninus a novelty band, except that the barking and growling fit in pretty well with the music. If they took out the barking, I bet most people wouldn't even realize that canines are fronting the band. Also, their cover of "Victim in Pain" by Agnostic Front is pretty good. This is fucking hilarious, but Caninus sound much better than a joke band

Cattle Decapitation play six quick grind metal songs that will easily rip your fucking face off and leave you for dead. They fit a lot of parts into a quick amount of time, and the speed at which they play is wonderful. "The Recapitation of Cattle" is a great song, though try not to blink because you'll miss. "Chile Dispenser" blows through with such quick vocals that its amazing that Travis Ryan can sing that fast. The other four songs are just as good, making this EP a start to end good time.
