Due to a pressing plant issue or some crazy error, this monthly seven inch series was delayed about four months. Four long months. I started getting a little impatient, even though it took me a few weeks to actually listen to this record once it arrived.
Ragan delivers two tracks of more of the same singer/songwriter acoustic work. "Valentine" is standout track on here, possibly my favorite of the six he's released thus far. I love his vocal phrasing and the harmonica adds a nice touch (though this isn't the first time he's used it). The song is uptempo and an all out catchy piece of music.
"Do What You Do" is a bit slower, a song made for toe tapping; probably a good dance number if performed with a full band. There is a sadder feel to this song, which I thoroughly enjoy. The simple chord progressions allow for Ragan's voice and lyrics to take center stage.
This seven inch was well worth the four month wait, though I hope that the next release comes out much sooner, as this has been a stellar Club so far.
