I bought this split album before checking which songs The Explosion released on this, only to later find out that I already have these songs on Black Tape (and in the case of "No Revolution," Flash Flash Flash as well). I wasn't all that disappointed, as these are two of my favorite songs that this band has to offer, both songs featuring that snotty melodic street punk that The Explosion have become known for.
Having never heard the Street Brats before, I was looking forward to checking them out, hoping that I would enjoy them. They also play melodic street punk, but they bring a lot of fun elements to their music. The two songs on here bounce along at nice tempo, and they are flat out sing alongs with some catchy guitar leads.
To make this split even more worth it is the red and clear colored vinyl that its on, which was the final selling point for me. The fact that it features four killer songs made it well worth my money.
