The Ergs!/Lemuria
Art of the Underground/Whoa Oh Records
2007

Okay, so I'm a little late reviewing this. I'm not sure how long ago I bought this, but I've been too lazy to review it up until now. Both are great up coming pop punk bands on cool labels (Asian Man and No Idea) that will most likely be play The Fest for years to come.

While there are stylistic differences in the songwriting, there isn't a whole lot of separation between the two bands. Both remind me of the older Lookout Records roster, bringing me back to my mid teens, in what has become a revitalization of the genre for me. Both bands write really fun and happy sounding songs (especially The Ergs!), even if there are some downtrodden lyrics ("Clean" by Lemuria). One band has a female singer and the other covers "Hey Jealousy" by the Gin Blossoms. I can't think of too many reasons for people not to own this split (unless its out of print, which would be a bummer).
