Leviathan-The Blind Wound
Southern Lord
2007

A cool thing about this album is that it sounds almost as good at 33 rpms as it does at 45. It took me a few seconds to figure out which one it was, but I was finally able to figure it out in the voice.

This is a pretty killer five song LP. Leviathan, and I must admit that this is the only Leviathan music I own, play some pretty fucked up sounding Black Metal. The music sounds like you're at a dinner party with Satan Himself, except a little more evil, possibly even causing the Lucifer to take a step or two back. The music blasts by at a wonderful rate, perfect for my metal tastes, and the vocals couldn't sound any harsher if they tried.

My favorite part of Black Metal has always been the melodies hidden behind the evil, and The Blind Wound delivers. "Another Sip of Fear" is a great look at melody, though hidden behind tribal drums. And their guitars are just great for the style of music that they are playing.

Coming from Southern Lord, being on gray vinyl (which is the color that best describes The Blind Wound), this is a must have for fans of Black Metal. Leviathan has been getting some recognition as of late, and with this five song LP, I can see why.
